Starting at Albion Park, this ride will 'circumcycle' (If that's even a word!) Lake Illawarra. The ride around the lake is generally very flat and on designated bike paths and cycleways. Some of these are on quiet backstreets but we do need to take care on a small section (a few 100 metres) on a busier road. There is plenty to see on the lake and there should be quite a few different water birds along the shoreline. We will ride at a steady pace but with breaks when needed, We will be out for morning tea and lunch.

This ride is suitable for most bikes. Riders must be self-sufficient and responsible for their own repairs and equipment. All riders must wear a properly fitting bike helmet. Please note: Pedal-assisted E-bikes (Max 250W) are welcome, but E-bike riders may not be covered by club insurance if there are no traditional bikes in the group.

Distance: 45 km Average pace: 18 - 20 km/h

Activity Organiser: JOHN H.

The GRADE reflects the level of difficulty & distance. Refer to explanation of cycling grades & other cycling information on the club website.

CYCLING is a 'Peer Activity' - where no instructional or guiding structure exists and it is the responsibility of each participant to ensure the suitability of their equipment and themselves for the activity.

NOTE: It is strongly recommended that all E-bike riders have Personal Accident and Public Liability insurance cover via membership of Bicycle NSW. This is advised as Sutherland Bushwalkers insurance only covers E-bikes if they are ridden in a group with non E-bike participants and at the same speed as non E-bike participants during a club activity.
