MORNING WALK - Beginning in Oliver St Heathcote on unnamed track, meeting the Friendly Trail to the Pipeline. Then on to Battery Causeway, followed by an unmarked 200 m to Gunners Pool, a very picturesque spot with enough water for a cooling dip.
Very brief opportunity to walk off-track for a few minutes and explore the small camping cave, followed by morning tea at Gunners Pool. The military terms relate to this area being a training area for troops in WWII.
Anyone arriving by train can be met at Heathcote Railway Station by prior arrangement with leader. There is a train arriving from Sutherland direction at 8.40 am, otherwise meet 8.45 am at the western end of Oliver St, Heathcote.
Approx 8-9 km.
Activity organiser: KAY R.
MORNING WALKS generally start between 8-9am and finishes between 12-1pm, as advised by the Activity Organiser.
The GRADE reflects the level of difficulty & distance. Refer to explanation of walking grades on the club website.
