CYCLE (Grade 3) - WOOLOOWARE TO TEMPE (via Botany Bay)
Tue 14th Jul 2026
Bookings available to active members only.
The ride starts and ends at Solander Oval at Woolooware. We'll follow the cycle path over Captain Cook Bridge, around Botany Bay to Tempe then onto the viewing platform at the northern end of the airport. We'll stop on the way for a coffee. We'll return the same way.
This scenic ride is relatively flat and mostly on shared bike/pedestrian paths through reserves, with a few linking sections on footpaths and quiet roads. Approx 43 km at moderate pace (17 to 20 km/hr).
There's plenty of parking at Solander Oval or you can catch the train to Wooloware Station and ride the short distance to the park.
This ride is suitable for most bikes. Riders must be self-sufficient and responsible for their own repairs and equipment. All riders must wear a properly fitting bike helmet. Please note: Pedal-assisted E-bikes (Max 250W) are welcome, but E-bike riders may not be covered by club insurance if there are no traditional bikes in the group.
Activity organiser: ANNETTE M.
CYCLING is a 'Peer Activity' - where no instructional or guiding structure exists and it is the responsibility of each participant to ensure the suitability of their equipment and themselves for the activity.
The GRADE reflects the level of difficulty & distance. Refer to explanation of cycling grades & other cycling information on the club website.
NOTE: It is strongly recommended that all E-bike riders have Personal Accident and Public Liability insurance cover via membership of Bicycle NSW. This is advised as Sutherland Bushwalkers insurance only covers E-bikes if they are ridden in a group with non E-bike participants and at the same speed as non E-bike participants during a club activity.
