CYCLE (Grade 3) - WOLLI CREEK TO IRON COVE via THE GREENWAY
Tue 12th May 2026
Bookings available to active members only.
Ride starts from Wolli Creek Station (or nearby park) and follows Cooks River Cycleway to Earlwood. We then ride along the Greenway corridor to Iron Cove. A highlight of this ride is the Bay Run loop over the Iron Cove Bridge, with picturesque views of the Parramatta River. After morning tea beside the bay, we return along the Greenway and Cooks River Cycleway with an early afternoon finish back at Wolli Creek. Option for lunch at a nearby cafe after the ride.
This scenic ride is relatively flat and mostly on shared bike/pedestrian paths through reserves, with a few linking sections on quiet roads. Approx 30 km at moderate pace.
This ride is suitable for most bikes. Riders must be self-sufficient and responsible for their own repairs and equipment. Please note: Pedal-assisted E-bikes (Max 250W) are welcome, but E-bike riders may not be covered by club insurance if there are no traditional bikes in the group.
Activity organiser: ANNETTE M.
CYCLING is a 'Peer Activity' - where no instructional or guiding structure exists and it is the responsibility of each participant to ensure the suitability of their equipment and themselves for the activity.
The GRADE reflects the level of difficulty & distance. Refer to explanation of cycling grades & other cycling information on the club website.
NOTE: It is strongly recommended that all E-bike riders have Personal Accident and Public Liability insurance cover via membership of Bicycle NSW. This is advised as Sutherland Bushwalkers insurance only covers E-bikes if they are ridden in a group with non E-bike participants and at the same speed as non E-bike participants during a club activity.
