HEATHCOTE NP (Grade 3) - Battery Causeway and Gunners Pool

Beginning in Oliver St Heathcote on unnamed track meeting the Friendly Trail to the Pipeline and on to Battery Causeway, followed by an unmarked 200m to Gunners Pool, a very picturesque spot with enough water for a cooling dip. Very brief opportunity to walk off-track for a few minutes and explore the small camping cave, followed by morning tea at Gunners Pool. The military terms relate to this area being a training area for troops in WWII.
Anyone arriving by train can be met at Heathcote Railway Station by prior arrangement with leader. There is a train arriving from Sutherland direction at 8.40 a.m., otherwise 8.45 at the western end of Oliver St, Heathcote.
