This enjoyable track explores the bushland near Heathcote train station. There are wildflowers and interesting rock formations along the way. Lots of variations in the track, with swimming opportunities, making for a relief from January heat. We will descend to Karloo Pool walking along Kangaroo Creek for swimming opportunities and morning tea. Followed by a steep 290m ascent up the Bottle Forest Track which can be a bit of a scramble which we will take very slowly.
This is summer and therefore snakes are about, please carry a snake bandage. The morning will include a brief discussion on how to apply a snake bandage and what to do in the event of a snake bite.
Meet 9 a.m. the carpark on the eastern side of Heathcote Railway Station, Wilson Parade.
Distance: 8.2 km
Activity organiser: KAY R.
A MORNING WALK generally starts between 8-9am and finishes between 12-1pm, as advised by the Activity Organiser.
The GRADE reflects the level of difficulty & distance. Refer to explanation of walking grades on the club website.
